The year 2010 marks the 150th anniversary of Chopard. The brand deliberately launched a limited edition L.U.C 1937 watch to pay tribute to the brand’s heritage in mechanical watchmaking. Today, Chopard has launched a new 18K rose gold model with silver silk satin dial, which traces back Chopard’s elegant and timeless heritage. It is equipped with the brand’s home-made movement L.U.C 01.01-L (L.U.C 1.010), which is rhythmic and precise.
Chopard was founded in 1860, and the unveiling of the legend is always a decisive moment. 1937 was another key point for Chopard’s development. This year, Paul-André Chopard, the grandson of the founder and founder of Louis-Ulysse, chose to move away from the birthplace of the brand, Jura. Valley, head to Geneva for development. It was in Geneva that Chopard achieved a series of subsequent successes and became famous in the industry. In 2010, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the brand’s creation, Chopard paid tribute to this historic moment for the first time, and launched the L.U.C 1937 Twist commemorative watch with pure and simple line design to match the brand’s outstanding watchmaking technology. Later, the series introduced a new stainless steel, under the ‘Classic’ series, the crown of the watch at 3 o’clock.
Today, the L.U.C. 1937 Classic is back again, showing its nobility in an 18K rose gold case with a diameter of 42 mm. The watch is paired with a rose gold or crocodile leather strap, a silver silk satin dial with a sunburst, and the iconic Crown Prince hands of the L.U.C. series. The new work delicately interprets the classic appearance and individual details of the series. The crown at 3 o’clock has a good seal and a water resistance of 100 meters.
L.U.C 01.01-L (L.U.C 1.010) movement: precise movement, reliable performance
The L.U.C 1937 Classic watch is equipped with the L.U.C 01.01-L (L.U.C 1.010) movement. The vibration band of 28,800 times per hour moves the watch vigorously. This self-winding mechanical movement is certified by the Swiss Official Observatory (COSC) and has a power reserve of 60 hours. The movement structure focuses on extraordinary reliability, with central hours, minutes and seconds display, 6 o’clock position and date display functions. In addition, the stop-second function ensures the convenience and accuracy of time adjustment. This movement, known for its precise timekeeping and reliability, is a milestone in the history of L.U.C movement development. Its success not only increased the brand’s output, but also demonstrated Chopard’s independent independence.
As a family brand, independence is a distinctive label of Chopard. The production of L.U.C watches is completely completed at the production sites of Meyrin and Fleurier within the group. Movement design, finished product design, gold casting, stamping and mold processing, metal movement and watch band creation, traditional hand decoration, surface treatment, polishing, assembly, and debugging and quality control. All watches need to go through these processes to achieve the excellent watchmaking that belongs to Chopard.
